School Redesign Initiative

Philadelphia, PA : City Wide Initiative

The Goal: The SRI is an important lever for creating school improvement opportunities: it focuses on improving academic outcomes for 21st century learning, and ensuring equitable access to high-quality learning environments.

The Work: Kristin Hokanson worked with the Chester A. Arthur School in 2015 and Labrum Middle School in 2016 to fulfill the redesign plan that was approved by the SRI. Kristin worked through strategic planning, crafting mission and vision, conducting professional development focused on PBL and Inquiry as well as delivered model lessons. This work is intensive and comprehensive in its efforts to quickly shift school focus.
